Welcome to the Influ-Men-sirs Podcast
Is This One of “Those Spaces?” Another Cringe Manosphere Content Machine?
Short but fierce answer.
No.
However…
Men are struggling. Of this, most rational folks agree. The left says it’s all patriarchy, the right says it’s all wokeness. Speaking for myself, maybe it’s a bit of the latter and a bit of the former but what’s most definitely true is men feel lost and both sides can’t seem to accurately and honestly speak to why beyond shifting the blame to the other side.
Enter Influ-Men-Sirs..
-
A team of concerned, engaged, and dedicated men who through research, lived experience, and open dialogue filled with humor, conflict, tears, and passion are motivated to fill in the loneliness and meaning gaps felt by men and to instead struggle and triumph alongside our fellow brothers in our modern times.
-
We believe the aches felt by men don’t occur in a vacuum. Additionally, we don’t believe in the simplified, reductive rhetoric on the ideological right nor in the absent if not directly hostile energy toward men on the ideological left. By examining a fellow individually, we hope to build the listener and our own understanding of what healthy masculinity is, what it can be, and what it shouldn’t be.
-
We take individual masculine archetypes, particularly those most famous, notorious, and well-known, and examine them with a slate of question and inquiry, teasing out what the figure says directly or indirectly about being a man, what that messaging means for men (and women + children), and how that messaging impacts us. We strive to be as formative as informational; we believe we are “figuring out” masculinity alongside our audience rather than telling our audience what it is.
